September in a Nutshell - Quarter Break at ST

(documentary brainstorming session)

It's taken me a long time to get back to blog writing! I have a feeling that that's how it's going to be this year, since the sites and sounds are pretty "normal" now and I don't feel the desire to bring my camera everywhere I go. I do feel the desire to bring the video camera to a lot of places though.

The "Jaunpuri Villages" documentary is charging full steam ahead! After two failed attempted to go to the village, my new co-producer "S", my new editor "SE", my sister, and I headed to Sarab Talla for quarter break. It was fun and challenging!

The documentary theme is about Exodus, how the villagers are leaving to go to the cities. Here are scenes from filming:

(Showing Rena how to use the camera)

(interviewing about education)

(everyone trying to see the view finder)

(Sonu holding boom for us.)
(Jeanne teaching math)

Here are scenes of daily life and hanging out! I will go back to Sarab Talla for activity week in November!

(By the way, did I mention that my sister is visiting?)

(Rena and my neighbor "S")

Yes, so many of these pictures are taken by my sister. She is having a good time in India!

Below are other scenes from a CARE trip that I chaperoned to the Tibetan Homes in Happy Valley. Many Tibetan refugees live there. We helped with cleaning, weeding, and entertaining.

As my blog may get very boring soon, here are links to Megan's blog and Jennie's blog, who are new to Woodstock this year. They are cool band geeks.
